Moving into a new home can be scary. Moving into a new home when you’re finally financially and emotionally able to can be terrifying. Your first home is an experience that is like no other. How do you do… stuff??? Sadly, there are no fast and hard rules when it comes to managing your home, just some good guidelines. Lucky for you, we came across this list of home decor hacks and we wanted to share with you some of our favorites.
- Clocks are classy and timeless… get it? No but seriously, a nice clock works wonders. It’s strange to think that something as small as a clock can make such a big difference but it shows that you’re mature and don’t depend on your iPhone for everything.
- Thrifts and hand-me-downs will save your life… and your wallet. Money is tight. When is it not? So do yourself a favor and try not to buy everything new. When friends and relatives offer old furniture that’s in good shape, there’s no harm in taking it. You’ll be doing them and yourself a favor. And when you come across cool chairs at a thrift store, why not use them? You can even paint them after you clean them. No harm, no foul.
- Rugs and mats light up any room. They can be fun, elegant or simple. The point is that they give life to rooms, whether it be a bedroom or a living room or even your bathroom. They also hide stains.
- Make sure there’s a place to sit! With company coming over, there is nothing more awkward than just standing room. It’s important to have pillows or couches or chairs for someone to feel comfortable in your place.
- Add plants. Nothing says “care-free grown up responsible enough to own their own place” like pretty plants. They also give life to a room and they are just an all around nice decoration piece. Just make sure to prove your responsibility by watering them!
Those are just a few tips for ensuring that your first home experience is a good one. Let us know if we missed any!
