RJ Thieneman has recently expanded its commercial portfolio through the acquisition of a new property as well as expansion of existing properties.

The purchase of Kroger Plaza in Winchester, KY was finalized on Tuesday, July 1. This property serves as one of the prominent retail centers for the city that sits just 15 miles outside Lexington. The center is anchored by Kroger, Burke’s Outlet and Cato, which are accompanied by Hallmark, RadioShack, Papa John’s, Sun Tan City, Kort Physical Therapy, Sally Beauty Supply and The UPS Store. This acquisition adds to the growing commercial portfolio of this second generation family-owned business.

Shops of Forest Springs, located off the Gene Snyder expressway on La Grange Road, broke ground in May for its expansion of the center’s third phase. Starbucks and AT&T have signed leases and plan to open in late Fall at this high-traffic location. There are additional spaces available for lease and RJ Thieneman is pursuing several national and local retail and dining chains.

Franklin Square, located in Frankfort, KY, remains a thriving retail hub. National retailers JC Penney and Hibbett Sports recently renewed multiple year leases. In 2013, Kroger expanded to add over 22,000 sq. ft. of space and Franklin Square Cinemas was purchased by Republic Theater which has since upgraded the space to include new seating and digital projection.

Breckenridge Plaza, at the intersection of Breckenridge Lane and Six Mile Lane in Louisville, remains a staple of the Hikes Point area. The shopping center is anchored by the new Priceless Foods and includes Family Dollar, Horner Novelty and a charitable gaming establishment. Brian Thieneman, CEO, stated that he has no plans to slow down, “I am continuing to explore new opportunities to expand and grow the commercial and residential portfolios of the company”. Thieneman has over 20 years of experience in building real estate brands which has resulted in great gains for the organization.
